How to Love Myself (affirmations from Louise Hay)

Louise Hay

I am OK as I am. I approve of myself. I am making positive changes in my life everyday, but I am OK as I am right now.

Find an image of something I really like (to rid my mind of thoughts that scare me) - switch to this image. Everytime I am frightening myself, switch to this image when I chose to frighten myself.

I will love myself enough to stop SCARING myself

I will be gentle, kind and patient with myself.

What kind of seeds do I need to plant/thoughts that will contribute to the garden of experiences in my life. I will plant these ideas in the fertile soil of my mind and soil---I will reap a beautiful harvest of things that I want.

I am learning new ways of thinking.

It's OK to make mistakes while I am learning - I don't have to do anything perfectly. Anything that I am learning will take time.

Let go the old, negative pattern with love. Move into the new, loving thought pattern with ease.

"I am willing to release the pattern in my consciousness that has contributed to this negative condition".

I really deserve only good in my life. I allow the healing powers and the healing energies of the universe to flow in my life, changing my life for the better."

Take care of my body. Love the house that I live in (my body) and take care of it. Watch what I put into my body.

Look in the mirror. Tell yourself "I LOVE YOU."

It is safe to feel our feelings. Feelings pass through. They don't stay. Don't ignore feelings. Feel the feelings.

"I forgive you. I am forgiven." I love and approve of YOU."

======================

The universe takes care of me. I am always safe.

Everything that I need to know is revealed to me. Knowledge comes to me. Everything I need to "hear" will come to me.

Everything that I need comes in the perfect time-space sequence. I don't need to "make things happen."

I place my order in the "cosmic kitchen" (to God) - I don't need to make things happen. Everything is being taken care of by God.

What is "right" for me will come in the perfect time-space sequence.

Life is a joy and filled with love. As I choose to believe this, it comes true to me and for me.

I am loving and I am loved. I operate from the loving space of the heart as much as I can. By giving out love, love comes back multiplied.

I prosper wherever I turn. "How can I help?" The quickest way to increase our income is to do the mental work. Don't seek after the money. Seek after ways to help.

My income is constantly increasing. I prosper wherever I turn. My income is constantly increasing.

I am WILLING to grow and to change. I don't know everything. There is sooo much more to learn.

I am open and receptive to new knowledge and new insight. I am willing to shift my insight.

I am willing to look at myself. I can become more of who I am. We don't become "better" people. We can become MORE of who we are.

I am willing to let go of whatever doesn't work for me anymore.

All IS WELL IN MY WORLD.

I trust life to take me where I should go. Everything will always be for my highest good.

I practice unconditional love.

I do everything that I do to be happy and to practice joy and unconditional love.

"Give and it Shall Be Given to You"

Luke 6:37-38

New International Version
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

New Living Translation
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full--pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back."

The Message version explains it very clearly:

37-38 “Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults—unless, of course, you want the same treatment. Don’t condemn those who are down; that hardness can boomerang. Be easy on people; you’ll find life a lot easier. Give away your life; you’ll find life given back, but not merely given back—given back with bonus and blessing. Giving, not getting, is the way. Generosity begets generosity.”

I have ALWAYS been a selfish person, from birth. I remember as a child sitting at my grandfather's table eating a sandwich. I remember being mortified when my grandfather picked up MY sandwich and took a big bite. I cried and cried because I didn't want him to have my sandwich, even though it was his bread, his meat and it was his kitchen table that I was sitting at. I used to hate it when my grandfather would take his fork and pick up food from my plate. Even though my grandfather would give the shirt off of his back to me, I hated it when he would "take" something from me. I cannot understand why I didn't want to freely give it to him. I was born selfish (LOL).

This scripture talks about "giving". I always associated it with giving an offering to the collection plate. A pastor last evening put the scripture into another perspective, about "giving" of ourselves to people. Not only what you give, monetarily, has a way of giving back. Giving love. Giving of yourself, and giving of your talents to others comes back. Giving of your time comes back.

Grandpapa, I am sorry I was sooo selfish. I was a young kid who didn't know any better. Thank you, grandpapa for giving of youself to me. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for convicting me to recognize the importance of giving all of myself to the upbuilding of your Kingdom.

Amen

"I Give Myself Away"

[Chorus:]
I give myself away
I give myself away
So You can use me
I give myself away
I give myself away
So You can use me

[Verse 1:]
Here I am
Here I stand
Lord, my life is in your hands
Lord, I'm longing to see
Your desires revealed in me
I give myself away

[Verse 2:]
Take my heart
Take my life
As a living sacrifice
All my dreams all my plans
Lord I place them in your hands

[Chorus:]
I give myself away
I give myself away
So You can use me
I give myself away
I give myself away
So You can use me

[Chorus:]
I give myself away
I give myself away
So You can use me
I give myself away
I give myself away
So You can use me

[Bridge: x7]
My life is not my own
To you I belong
I give myself, I give myself to you

Bitterness will only lead to pain. Give it over to God and trust Him.

"Bitterness will only lead to pain. Give it over to God and trust Him." (Paula White)

I feel bitterness toward a relative who I feel has been ungrateful. I am going to squash it, let it go. And, most importantly, give the situation over to God. I don't have to give that person over to God because, we are all in God's hands. What I need to do is give my feelings and this situation over to God. And, most, most, most importantly, trust that God has already worked it out. The bitterness is lifting from my spirit as we speak.

This whole situation makes me think of a song by the LA Mass Choir "That's When You Bless Me." The lyrics truly to touch me to the core of my spirit. What's also special about this song is that I asked the Lord to plant this song on my heart so that I could learn to play it. And HE blessed me with the ability to play this song over 25 years ago. And I can still play it to this day. God is good!!!!

-------------------------------------------------
That's When You Bless Me (L.A. Mass Choir)

My life was torn beyond repair
I felt so alone, seemed no one cared
You came along, gave me a song
To ease the pain and erase the strain

(Bridge)
You could have left me standing there
With no one, no one to care
But You promised me You'd be there on time
And You did just what You said

(Female solo)
Against all odds, I made the choice
To give You my life, now I rejoice
You answered my prayers not a moment to soon
Your word I embraced, my sins You erased

Repeat Bridge

(Chorus)
(I gave it up) That's when You bless me
(Oh I let it go) That's when You bless me
(Lord, You brought me through, now I'm brand new)
Yes

(I said have Your way) That's when You bless me
(Oh I'm here to stay) That's when You bless me
(Lord, You promised me You would hear my plea)
And You did just what You said.

(Female solo)
Against all odds, I made the choice
To give You my trust, now I rejoice
You answered my prayers not a moment to soon
Your word I embraced, my sins You erased

(Repeat Bridge)

(Chorus w/ solo adlibs)

(Vamp)
And You did just what You said....
And You did just what You said....

AMEN

Day 9: Owning my own unique "Bad-Assness"

"...Stop comparing yourself to others. It’s human nature to do this. Besides, we live in a relative world where we are always “more” or “less” than something or someone else. But how does it serve us to go around comparing our bodies or our successes to others? If we’re doing “better” than some random person we deem comparable, we make it mean we’re good. If we’re not at the level of some other arbitrary person, we make it mean we suck. Could you take a step back and realize that your life is exactly that? Yours. No one else’s, and your journey is 100% unique to you? Using relativity to boost or lessen your self-worth is a dangerous place to be because it’s a game we can never win. There will always be someone more lean/fit/successful/smart/ripped/thin/muscular, etc than us. And us searching out those people with the sole intention of making us feel bad about ourselves is a waste of time and energy. Instead, own your unique bad-assness right now and relax into the awesomeness that is YOU..."(Jill Fit).

I am owning my own unique "bad-assness" today. I am not focusing on anyone else or what they have or don't have. I am focused on myself and what God has given me. Thank you Lord for making me a unique, loving individual who deserves good things from you.

Amen.

Day 8: With Christ, There is Nothing Missing...

Prayer:

Scripture:

I appreciate this post that I saw on social media, posted by Pastor Kim Burrell. It truly blessed me:

"...Please remember... God's word will NEVER return void! In other words, What God told u will ALWAYS hold value! What does God's word say? He says that you're fearfully & wonderfully made! He's says that you're the head & not the tail... Above & not beneath... A lender not a borrower! He says that all things work together for the good to them who love Him & r called according to His purpose! & so much more... So, I challenge u today... Use the word of God in EVERY situation & see God's glory in action!..."

Here is a prayer that spoke to me:

Lord, help me embrace what is and live each day with thankfulness for the life I've been given. Give me the grace to be happy while I wait for what I want, rather than insist that I cannot be happy until I attain it. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

I am happy to testify that I am blessed to have come to the realization that there is nothing missing in my life. I am doing everything that I am supposed to be doing at the time and in the season that I am supposed to be doing it. In God's time. With Christ, there is nothing missing in my life.

Today was a rough day, but I have decided not to be angry. I am not going to vent. What I am going to be is grateful. I am grateful for life. I am grateful for my mother. I am grateful for my husband. I am grateful for my niece. I am grateful for life. I am grateful for my job. I am grateful for a good relationship with my boss. I am grateful for the ability to walk away and to focus on myself.

Amen.

Day 7: My timing vs. God's timing

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father. Thank you for life. Thank you for your son, Jesus Christ who died so that I might live. Thank you for your Grace. Thank you for your mercy. Thank you for my family. Thank you for supplying all of my needs. Give me the heart and mind to be a blessing to your people, all people. In Jesus' Name we pray, Amen.

"For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD... plans to give you hope and a future."-Jeremiah 29:11

==========================

I read some inspiring posts today that I want to share:

"Stress makes you believe that everything has to happen right now. Faith reassures you that everything will happen in God's timing!"

Everything that you put into your body and your mind matters. Make loving choices today.

Look at you! Accept that the spirit of God lives in you. You are a wonderfully divine creation of God! When you can look at yourself, accept who and what you are, and love yourself unconditionally, your spirit is empowered!

So Grateful for this Gift. I am evolving into the Woman I have always aspired to be, both inside and out! "For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD... plans to give you hope and a future."-Jeremiah 29:11

"Today is a new day it was not promised but by God's grace you are still here. Make new music, dance a new dance, enjoy the fresh newness of life! Make every second an offering of praise to God today!"

Christ's love is deeper than anything you have known. Give Him the chance to come in your heart and heal your pain!

-----------------------------

Of all of the inspiring posts, the first two truly speak to me today:

"Stress makes you believe that everything has to happen right now. Faith reassures you that everything will happen in God's timing!"

Everything that you put into your body and your mind matters. Make loving choices today.

I have been feeling kind of down for the last few days, but I know its my hormones kicking in this month, so I accept that. Studying self affirmations and applying them, and reading the self help books/posts have been so helpful. I truly can relate to the affirmation on stress. I was that person in my previous life. I used to believe that everything had to happen right now. Today. And if I didn't, I thought about it all day. I wore stress all over my face. I have a new Faith that, regardless of whether it happens today, tomorrow or next week. Whatever that is meant to happen will happen in God's timing. And God's timing is the BEST timing. Not my timing. My timing is way off. God's timing is the best timing. And God's timing is always RIGHT ON TIME.

Workout: I had a great workout today. I did three (3), 10 minute strength training cardio workouts today. I felt great afterwards. I plan to do the resistance band workout later on today. It's 10 minutes. That's all I really need for a workout. And I broke a sweat, which is awesome.

Food: I had a fat burning smoothie this morning. I've made a decision that I am going to start every morning with a smoothie. EVERY SINGLE MORNING. I just feel great afterwards, plus I feel like I've got in some great veggies and fruits. I feel great after drinking the smoothie. I feel great right now. Then I had some healthy snacks: an apple and a boiled egg. No overeating or binge eating or mindless snacking today. I cut out the morning coffee today. I feel better as a result. It's going to take a bit of will power not to purchase a coffee today, but I'm going to exercise that will power and take a pass on coffee today. I have been feeling crappy later on in the day as a result of drinking so much coffee, plus I have read more than one place that morning coffee often leads to overeating later on in the day. I have personally found that to be the case in my own life. I'll have some sugar free hot cocoa, with a dark chocolate square later on if I have a caffeine craving.

I'm looking forward to baking my acorn squash, with pecans, "Splenda blend" brown sugar, chipotle hot chili powder and some quinoa, coupled with a few mini meat loaves. Sounds scruptuous!!!!

Life is good. It's going to be a great day today. I'm going to be intentional about doing some sewing today. I feel kind of bad that I have been putting it off. But no better day than the present. It's all about doing it and now just talking about it!

God is good. Thank you Lord for life.

"I am a good person, and I accept all of the Good that God sends my way. When good things come my way, I will not push them away."
